Our Sacred Land
~ Kelandara ~

Johannine Grove Ministry owns approximately 20 acres of sacred land here in the Crestone / Baca area. While we consider all the land in this region to be sacred (more info on the area), the unique spiritual presence which one feels while on Kelandara cannot be mistaken. Kelandara is an ancient name which means "The Place of Ancestral Memories."

We currently take individuals and groups out on the land to pray and meditate. We also conduct spiritual and religious ceremonies on the land. These ceremonies are usually, but not always, held in conjunction with astrological and lunar/solar events such as Solstices and Equinoxes, which the early church celebrations keyed off of.

We have built what we call a "dirth ben" (Celtic-sacred stone circle) upon the land, and we are in the process of constructing a trail system with meditation and prayer stations along the trails. In time there will be approximately 5 small dome type retreat hermitages, 7 small meditation sanctuaries, a dome shaped Temple building, a meditation garden, a caretakers quarters, a public restroom, and shower facility for the hermitages.

Many people come from all over the world, and walk upon Kelandara to connect to the sacred spirit of the land. They often leave a gift of a stone, crystal, feather or other sacred object from home at one of two special locations we currently have for doing so on the land.

We welcome you to come and experience Kelandara.
